SuperBulk

SuperBulk is a production campus designed according to the highest quality standards. A sustainable factory in the broadest sense of the term: energetic, environmental, economic and social.

The overall construction programme that Intercos intends to implement is organised in a series of interventions in different lots, to be realised in successive stages. The existing building and offices will also be refurbished to give an image to the entire project, using a uniform architectural language consistent with the corporate image.

The project involves the construction of a high-technology production building with a gross floor area of approximately 22,000 square metres. It is planned to locate the project volume towards the north-west boundary, so as to dilute the impact towards Via Galilei, along which a tree-lined green area creates a filter between the yards and the street. In addition to the main volume, Superbulk seeks to compensate for the impact of the building with two elements of public open space, accommodating the client's interest in providing a green space for the context. This space together with a pedestrian and bicycle path bordering the project on the south side.

The design of the cycle/pedestrian path also provides for a series of additional off-site interventions necessary to ensure the functionality of the cycle connections. Within the private area, a large park, called the Sustainability Park, completes the project's green areas. To the south of the building adjacent to the park are the appurtenant car parks, distributed on two levels, one basement and the other raised. To the west of the car parks, the ecological area and a series of process plants serving the production plant, a necessary endowment for this type of intervention, will be located within the lot in a position with less visual impact and less interference with other flows.
