Da Vittorio: Bistro Restaurant

The project is based on the desire to maintain visual connections with the existing landscape, modifying it as little as possible and enhancing the valuable views. Through the installation of glass walls, some of which can be opened, the link between the interior and exterior environment is strengthened, increasing the feeling of immersion in nature. On the eastern side, the existing tree species are maintained, where possible, or, alternatively, new specimens are planted, in the logic of maintaining the compositional balance of the green component, without distorting the naturalness of the place, but rather, favouring landscape mitigation. Also towards Via Cantalupa. On the south side, the pre-existing portion of green area planted with palm trees is also partially maintained.

The building fits into the Cantalupa context, characterised by the presence of green areas, flowerbeds, vineyards and trees scattered throughout the estate. The design of the green area is based on the desire to maintain visual connections with the existing landscape, modifying it as little as possible and enhancing the valuable views.

The project involves the demolition of the building and the portico attached to it intended for the summer kitchen and grill area, and the reconstruction of a new restaurant with bistro character. The new building will be constructed in place of the existing portico in front of the swimming pool, taking its form, but updating it and integrating it with some strongly iconic elements, harmoniously inserted in the natural context and respecting the existing architecture.

The restaurant hall, the large open space, is also characterised by the presence of a lounge bar, an area for preparing hors d'oeuvres and desserts placed in the centre and a show grill area.

A large window with fixed and openable mirrors connects the interior space with the outside, which becomes a natural extension of the dining room. To the south, a second, smaller window opens the diners' view of the beautiful natural surroundings.
