"The contemporary city has forgotten the myths that have made great cities of the past."
So Sept. 22 Joseph Pasquale opened his speech at the roundtable on sustainable ARCHIDESIGN by ICE in Italy, the program of events scheduled to Italy Pavilion at Shanghai 2010.
According to Joseph di Pasquale, architecture must deal with the cultural identity of each place because "Return to build cities and architecture with the language of symbols means returning to dialogue with the desires and dreams of people."
The discussion, introduced by Umberto Vattani, chairman of the National Foreign Trade Institute, and moderated by Mario Cucinella, has also been attended by the architects Fan Yi Fei, Maria Grazia Tampieri, Cesare Maria Casati, Giampiero Guppini.
